Designed for adults living with disability, our program provides a safe and inclusive environment that supports individual pacing and comfort.

Details

Active & Social runs once per week as a 45-minute session during off-peak hours. Each session includes 45 minutes of structured activity on the courts, followed by an optional 15-minute social component in the café area.

During this time,  participants can relax, play board games, chat with others, and enjoy a drink or bite to eat, supporting both social connection and community engagement.

$12.00  Week 1 – Carnival Games
Participants will rotate through a range of fun stations including ring toss, bean bag throw and bowling challenges. Activities will be adapted to all needs, allowing participants to engage at their own pace. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café. 
Tuesday 5 May

$12.00  Week 2 – Soccer
This session focuses on dribbling, passing and shooting into small goals, with simple game play to encourage movement and participation. Activities will be adapted to all needs, including options to walk, roll, or modify equipment. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café.

$12.00  Week 3 – Pickleball
Participants will develop basic paddle skills and control through partner rally activities and modified game play. Activities will be adapted to all needs, including slower-paced options and larger targets. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café.

$12.00  Week 4 – Target Games
This session focuses on throwing and rolling, into targets to develop coordination and confidence. Participants will engage in bucket targets and accuracy-based games, all adapted to suit a range of abilities. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café.

$12.00   Week 5 – Mini Sports Circuit
Participants will rotate through a variety of sport-based stations including basketball, soccer, and throwing activities. Each station will be adapted to all needs to ensure inclusive participation. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café.

$12.00   Week 6 – Basketball
Participants will build confidence through passing, dribbling, and shooting activities, followed by small-sided games that promote teamwork and coordination. All activities will be adapted to suit individual abilities and support needs. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café.

$12.00   Week 7 – Target Sports
This session focuses on accuracy and control through activities such as boccia, frisbee toss, and bucket targets. All activities will be adapted to support different abilities and mobility levels. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café. 
Tuesday 16 June

$12.00   Week 8 – Team Challenge Day
Participants will engage in relay races, group challenges, and team-based activities designed to build connection and teamwork. Activities will be adapted to all needs, with flexible roles and options provided. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café.

$12.00   Week 9 – Paint & Play
This session combines light movement activities with a creative painting experience. Activities will be adapted to all needs, allowing participants to choose their level of engagement. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café. 
Tueaday 30 June

$12.00   Week 10 – Celebration Sports Day
The final session celebrates the program with participant-selected favourite games and group activities. All activities will be adapted to all needs to ensure inclusive participation. The session will conclude with a cool down and social time in the café. 

Who is it for?

  • Adults living with disability (18+).
  • Participants will be supported to engage at their own pace in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
  • Support workers or companions are welcome to attend at no additional cost and do not count toward participant numbers.

What do I need to bring?

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for gentle movement
  • Enclosed shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Any personal support items required

All equipment used during sessions will be provided.

Additional Information

  • Activities are adapted to suit a range of abilities, mobility levels, and sensory needs.
  • Participants must complete a waiver/PARQ prior to commencement.
  • Attendance is recorded weekly.
  • Sessions are facilitated by experienced Lords staff.
