Subiaco Oval update

Subiaco Oval update

As you may be aware, the city is currently working with the State Government and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) on the redevelopment of the Subiaco Oval precinct. A new, public-intake secondary school at Kitchener Park has been confirmed and is set to open to year seven students in 2020.

As part of the redevelopment plan, the City of Subiaco is investigating the possibility of a new, co-shared, state-of-the-art recreation facility near Subiaco Oval and Kitchener Park. This is an exciting opportunity for the city however is subject to funding and negotiations with the state government.

We understand that the potential for a new facility may raise questions about what will happen to Lords Recreation Centre.

The answer is that it is early days for the project and there are a number of external factors influencing the outcome. When we have more certainty about the potential new facility we will be in a position to assess how Lords may be affected.

So it is very much business as usual here at Lords and we will continue to keep you updated with information through our website and e-newsletter.

Visit the City of Subiaco website for more information about the Subiaco East Redevelopment Project.
