Recently the number of defects occurring with the spa has increased and it is increasingly difficult to repair due to its domestic nature, age and non-compliance with current codes.

Will you replace the spa with a new one?
No. In the time since the spa was installed over 25 years ago, the code for aquatic facilities has been substantially updated. Installing a new spa will cause considerable disruption to the pool area and car park due to the need for plant room extension.
Why can’t the spa be continued to managed as it is?
Due to the age of the spa and the associated plant the number of defects occurring has increased and ongoing repairs are not able to rectify the issues. The defects can lead to the water in the spa being unfit for use and posing a safety risk to members if it is not closed.
Is the spa being closed because it costs too much to maintain?
The maintenance cost of the spa is one consideration out of many, with the focus being on providing members with safe amenities. Recently, we have been unable to keep the spa open consistently and maintenance costs have increased to a point where it is not feasible to undertake ongoing maintenance.
