29 May 20

UPDATE – 29 May 2020:
We are beyond excited about the Premier’s recent announcement regarding phase three of WA’s roadmap to reopening. We’re currently looking at our best course of action and what this means for Lords and we’ll  make an announcement about our plans early next week.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Please send any enquiries through to lords@subiaco.wa.gov.au

Great news! In line with the State Government’s roadmap to ease restrictions, Lords Recreation Centre will partially reopen for current members from 6am on Tuesday 26 May.

The centre will resume:

  • group fitness classes, with a maximum of 20 people
  • pool sessions, with a maximum of 12 people (2 people per lane)
  • selected sports courts, with a maximum 20 people.

Our new opening hours will be Monday to Friday 6am to 7pm and Saturdays 7am to 1pm. The gym, café, crèche, squash courts, change rooms and lockers remain closed for now.

All of our memberships will remain suspended with no normal membership charges for the time being.  Members will be invited to opt-in for a pay-as-you-go COVID-19 membership to access sessions.

Group fitness

A new group fitness timetable has been developed and members will have access to a fair and easy to use booking system. All group fitness classes (including aqua) will be $8. Find out more about group fitness bookings here.

Pool

Members will be able to book a swimming or water walking pool session for $5. Pool access will be restricted to specific session times only for a maximum of 12 people. Swim school will not be running in this first phase of Lords reopening. Find out more about pool bookings here.

Sports courts

Selected sports courts will be available to hire at specified times by existing regular hire groups only. Booking enquiries can be emailed to lords@subiaco.wa.gov.au. Restrictions include a maximum of 20 participants, (including instructors) and no spectators. Normal court hire rates apply. Please note that the squash courts will remain closed during this phase of reopening.

Please remember, social distancing must be observed while using public facilities and specific terms and conditions of entry will be in place.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you back at Lords.

Frequently asked questions

Memberships

How do I opt in for the COVID care membership?

We have sent a message to all members with information about how to opt in for our COVID care membership. Find out more about COVID care here.
Note that there are no direct debit or up-front payments for this membership, however you will be required to pay either $8 (group fitness and aqua class) or $5 (pool session) each time you book for a class/session.

My membership is currently suspended. Will I start getting charged?

No. All of our memberships will remain suspended for the time being. There’s nothing you need to do and you will not be charged. Visit pass holders are also still on pause and your pass expiry will be extended to acknowledge this.

I’m not ready to return and prefer to wait until after additional lifting of restrictions. What will happen to my membership?

Nothing. All of our memberships will remain suspended for the time being. There’s nothing you need to do and you will not be charged.

Who can I email with my membership enquiry?

memberships@subiaco.wa.gov.au

How do I book into a session?

We have been hard at work finalising our booking system to ensure it is as fair and easy to use as possible. You can find out additional information about booking in for classes here.

Are scheduled classes available for non-members?

No. This is available only to our current members at this stage.

Can I book myself in for more than one class per day?

With very limited services and in fairness to your fellow members we encourage you to book just one class per day.

Can I bring someone with me?

No, unless that person is your carer. We will need to know in advance so that we can ensure we are keeping numbers to 20. Please contact lords@subiaco.wa.gov.au if you would like to visit with a carer.

Pool

How do I book a pool session?

We have been hard at work finalising our booking system to ensure it is as fair and easy to use as possible. You can find out additional information about booking in for a pool session here.

What should I bring for my class or pool session?

Please come to Lords dressed in your exercise or swimming clothing as you will not be able to use the change rooms. You should also bring your own water bottle (filled up) and exercise towel. We suggest you bring something warm to put over your exercise clothes or bathers as you will need to leave Lords straight after your class/session finishes. You will not be able to shower after your workout.

Our motto during this time will be get in, train, get out.

Social sports

Is the social sport competition resuming?

Due to the specific scope of the phase two lifting of restrictions, we are unable to run any term programs or sports competitions at this stage. Find out more here.
