UPDATE – 11 May 2020
On Friday 8 May, the Federal Government launched a three step framework for the gradual easing of COVID-19 closures and restrictions. In line with this framework, the Western Australian State Government has since announced that as of Monday 18 May, WA will begin to lift certain restrictions and allow for partial, limited reopening of some health and fitness facilities including pools and equipment free fitness classes.
The City of Subiaco is currently looking into what this means for Lords Recreation Centre. The City’s top priority remains the health and safety of the Lords community and our staff, as well as ensuring we can deliver a high quality service to all members.
We will be making an announcement soon, with updates available here and on our social media pages
Thank you for your understanding.
23 March 2020
On 22 March the federal government announced that gyms and indoor sports centres are restricted from opening to assist with reducing the spread of COVID-19. In line with this decision, Lords has closed temporarily, effective from 12pm Monday 23 March. At this stage the length of the closure is unknown, but the federal government indicated that this decision would be reviewed monthly.
We understand how important Lords is to the community and recognise this is a difficult process for everybody.
We will continue to work with City of Subiaco to ensure we are doing what is best for our community by monitoring the situation very closely and following the advice of the Department of Health, so that we can reopen the centre as soon as is practical.
All memberships have automatically been placed on free suspension for the duration of this closure and members will not be charged. The closure will not affect suspension periods and all membership expiry dates will be pushed back by the duration of the closure.
You can still contact Lords via firstname.lastname@example.org or 6229 6600 throughout the closure period if you have any questions. We will also provide updates wherever possible via this page, social media and our e-newsletter. In the meantime, you can keep updated via the City of Subiaco website.
For more information and the latest on COVID-19, visit the DOH website.
Please take care of yourselves and others. The sooner we can slow down and stop the spread of coronavirus, the sooner we can return to normality. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
