Lords new year’s weight loss challenge
Finale Weight Loss Competition
After a gruelling eight weeks of daily workouts including gym sessions, personal training and group fitness classes, together with a carefully designed food and nutrition plan, Bridie Williams has taken out the Lords new year’s weight loss challenge crown.

Bridie lost an amazing 15.4 kilograms or 17.4 per cent of her body weight. Overall, the four contestants lost a combined total of 49.9 kilograms and over 40 per cent of their body fat.

The four contestants Bridie Williams, Moira McDermott, Shauna Dickens, and Mark Colbourn have enjoyed the journey with Lords and will use the training, information and knowledge gained throughout the challenge to work towards a future packed with health and fitness goals.

Bridie has lost over seventeen per cent of her body weight and is a great example for our younger generation. She is completely focused on her goals and loves the challenges which Lords personal trainer Patrick Swann has put in her way.

Patrick said Bridie’s cardio fitness was incredibly high, she was strong and works hard in the gym.

Moira, who took out second place, is a vibrant grandmother who has blown everyone away by her single mindedness in nutrition and unwavering motivation. Moira and Lords personal trainer Aaron Barton have struck up an amazing relationship.

Mark, who achieved third place, has persevered through three training sessions per week whilst juggling a fast paced career and working interstate. He has attended many business functions with food and alcohol aplenty, but Mark has stayed true to his nutrition plan created by Lords personal trainer Anne Marie McDermott.

Shauna has come a long way since the start of the challenge and has successfully incorporated Lords into her daily routine, relying firmly on public transport to get her to and from the gym. Shauna’s cardio fitness has increased in leaps and bounds. Running five kilometres seemed impossible eight weeks ago, but now Shauna can run five kilometres without stopping.

Prizes distributed on Monday 19 April include a Lords membership, Workout World voucher and a Circles of Subiaco Hairdressers voucher.

The city is grateful to the supporters of the challenge including mentor Kristie Dignam of the 2006 Biggest Loser Australia competition
